Kirkland & Ellis advised Los Angeles-based private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners on the sale of Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, Inc. to alternative asset manager MidOcean Partners. Smith System is a leading provider of workplace safety training solutions and is widely recognized as the “gold standard” provider of driver safety training for large commercial fleets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Smith System was an investment of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners Fund V L.P.
