The prime accused in the JBT-TGT paper leak scam, Mithilesh Pandey aka Guruji, and his accomplice, were granted bail after the UP Police failed to file the charge sheet against the accused within the period of 90 days from the date of arrest.
The three accused in the JBT-TGT paper leak scam namely– Shiv Bahadur Singh, Shailesh Kumar and Sanjay Srivastva aka Mithilesh Pandey aka Guruji were arrested by a joint team of Punjab Police and Telangana Police on May 17.
Mithilesh Pandey was arrested on July 7 by Chandigarh Police on production warrant from by the Punjab vigilance wing. The accused Mithilesh Pandey alias Guruji, confessed to having leaked the question paper to 250-300 candidates at the cost of Rs. 7 Lakh each, who successfully cleared the written test for JBT-TGT teachers in January-February 2015, said police.
After arresting Mithilesh Pandey, the Chandigarh Police was supposed to file a charge sheet against the accused within 90 days from the date of his arrest. But, the police failed to do so, and the negligent act by the police allowed the accused paved his way out and get bail. Other accused persons have also applied for bail on similar grounds.
