During her 12 years in the U.S. Congress—six years in the United States Senate and six years in the United States House of Representatives—Senator Sinema developed a track record for successfully working across the political spectrum. She delivered meaningful and measurable results—including writing and negotiating the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Law, the CHIPS and Science Law, the Electoral Count Reform Law, and fighting to keep the carried interest rate deduction.

Senator Sinema, who was elected as a Senator from Arizona in 2018, served as a member of the chamber’s Committee on Appropriations, Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

In 2021, Senator Sinema played an important role in negotiating and passing the $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which authorized $1.2 trillion in federal funding for transportation and infrastructure improvements across the country. She also supported economic relief measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the American Rescue Plan, which provided financial assistance to individuals, businesses, and local governments.
