London, 2 October 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells today announced that Andrew Shaw has joined the Corporate & Finance practice group as an energy transition partner based in London. He joins from CMS, where he served as co-head of the firm’s Oil & Gas and Energy Transition team and has over 20-years’ experience in the energy sector.

Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: “We are thrilled that Andrew has decided to join our team. The Energy Transition market is an area of rapid growth and innovation. It is a strategic priority for the Firm and many of our clients. Andrew is a significant and timely addition to the Practice as we continue to strengthen our global energy offering.”

His arrival follows the news of other recent global appointments in the sector, including in London, Germany and Singapore.

Philip Robb, Global practice lead for the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects practice area added: “We are seeing increased demand across all regions and Energy Transition is at the heart of that growth. Andrew’s standing in the market and hands-on experience on pathfinder energy transition projects, particularly hydrogen and carbon capture, is an exciting step forward for the Practice and will be enormously valuable to our clients.”

Andrew’s practice covers a broad range of transactions across the Energy and Natural Resources sector. He has extensive experience in conventional oil & gas and petrochemicals together with market leading experience in newer areas, including green and blue hydrogen, green ammonia, carbon capture, geothermal, wind, solar and BESS. His clients include developers, funds, corporates, contractors and oil & gas companies all of which have a significant role to play in delivering the energy mix of the future.

Andrew Shaw said: “I am delighted to be joining Hogan Lovells. The firm’s global platform is incredibly strong and I’m looking forward to working with clients across the natural resources and energy transition markets on an international basis.”
