Hogan Lovells expands energy transition capabilities in Washington, D.C. with addition of Michael Bonsignore

Washington, D.C., 27 November 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced that Michael Bonsignore has joined the Corporate & Finance practice group in Washington, D.C. as a partner in the firm’s Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects (IERP) practice area. He joins from Clifford Chance.

Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: “We are delighted that Mike has decided to join us. He has deep experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors with an emphasis on renewables and energy transition. These areas are growing and evolving at an extraordinary pace and are strategic priorities for the firm and many of our clients. Mike is a great addition to our global energy transactions team, building on other recent appointments in London, Germany, and Singapore.”

Philip Robb, Global Practice Lead for the IERP practice area, added: “We are seeing increased demand across all regions for an expanded energy offering, with clean energy and energy transition work at the heart of that growth. Mike’s experience in areas such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture, alongside his broader experience across energy and infrastructure, will be highly valuable to our global range of clients. Bonsignore’s experience covers a broad range of corporate, M&A and project development work, principally in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has placed clean energy, energy transition, and infrastructure work at the heart of his practice, representing a mix of U.S. and international sponsors, investors, financing parties, and developers.

Ajay Kuntamukkala, Office Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, noted: “Mike’s arrival is a significant boost for the office as we reinforce and continue to expand our energy transactional capabilities. His experience across renewables and other aspects of energy transition will help keep us at the forefront of the market, which is priority for us and many of our clients.”

Bonsignore earned his earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Boston College.
