Led by Munich counsel Thiemo Woertge, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the German start-up Xavveo on a seed financing round of around EUR 8 million. The round was led by Vsquared Ventures and Imec.xpand, two investment funds specialised in deep tech.
Founded in 2023, the Berlin start-up Xavveo,is developing a radar system that enables autonomous driving even in adverse weather conditions. It uses what is known as ‘monolithic silicon photonics technology’. This enables the integration of electronic and photonic components on a single silicon chip.
The new capital will be invested in the further development of the photonic radar system and the expansion of the team.
Hogan Lovells comprehensively advised Xavveo on all legal issues in relation to the financing.
