Warsaw, 20 December 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the French fund Corum XL on the legal and tax aspects of its acquisition from Ghelamco of a high-rise building forming part of The Warsaw Hub.
The Warsaw HUB is a multifunctional skyscraper complex – one of the most technologically advanced in Europe, located near the Daszyńskiego Roundabout, which is comprised of three buildings: an 86-metre-high hotel tower hotel tower, and two 130 metre-high office buildings. As a result of the transaction, Corum XL has become the owner of a tower with a total area of 21,000 sqm, which is managed by IHG Hotels & Resorts, and houses both the 212-room Crowne Plaza and the 218-room Holiday Inn Express hotels.
On the purchaser’s side, the transaction was supervised by Katarzyna Dębińska-Pietrzyk (head of the Real Estate department). The Hogan Lovells team consisted of: Jacek Mizgier (associate), Sandra Mróz (lawyer), Magdalena Molczyk (lawyer), and Natalia Wiśniewska (lawyer).
Andrzej Dębiec (head of the Tax department) and Zbigniew Marczyk (counsel) advised on tax aspects of the transaction.
In terms of value, this transaction is one of the largest finalized on the Polish real property market in 2023.
