Led by partner Dr Carla Luh and counsel Stipe Bojanić, global law firm Hogan Lovells advised private bank Berenberg and the Berenberg Green Energy Debt Funds managed by Berenberg (together Berenberg) on the financing of a photovoltaic portfolio of ABO Energy in Hungary. The financial close was completed at the end of December 2024.
Berenberg and its managed Berenberg Green Energy Debt Funds are providing the financing for the construction phase of three solar projects in Hungary with a total capacity of 55.4 MWp.
Hogan Lovells advised the private bank comprehensively on the financing and due diligence with regard to German law. The complex financing of these three projects was realised within a challenging time frame.
“The smooth completion of this complex financing is an outstanding example of the efficiency and commitment of our team at Hogan Lovells. The close cooperation with Berenberg and the other parties involved in the project made the financing possible in such a short timeframe and we are pleased to have made an important contribution to the promotion of sustainable energy projects in the renewable energy sector,” said Carla Luh, head of the German Finance practice group.
