Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited, and Macquarie Capital Limited as joint sponsors and underwriters of MedSci Healthcare Holdings Limited (02415.HK)’s mainboard listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

MedSci Healthcare operates one of the largest online professional physician platforms in China, providing physician platform solutions, precision omni-channel marketing solutions and real world study (RWS) solutions. According to Frost & Sullivan, the platform had approximately 2.9 million registered physician users as of 31 December 2022, and 2.7 million monthly active users in 2021. MedSci Healthcare listed on 27 April 2023.

“We are delighted to have worked with MedSci Healthcare, a leading professional physician platform operator, on its successful listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange,” said Hong Kong partner Matt Emsley. “We congratulate MedSci Healthcare and the joint sponsors on this successful IPO and wish them continued success.”

“We appreciate our clients CICC and Macquarie for their trust in us,” said Herbert Smith Freehills Kewei joint operation partner Stanley Xie. “It is delighted to have worked with them on global capital markets matters.”

Herbert Smith Freehills leads the legal market in advising sponsors and underwriters on Hong Kong IPOs, with 20 IPOs successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the past two years.

Matt, Stanley and senior registered foreign lawyer (New York, USA) Jin Kong jointly led the team advising joint sponsors, assisted by counsel Agatha Shen, associates Sean Ji, Crystal Chan, Kaiwen Sun, Ting Wang and Christina Wang, and registered foreign lawyer (New York, USA) Haiyun Chen. Trainee solicitor Camille Chai, legal assistants Katherine Chen and Tiffany Chan also provided support.

Legal manager Marine Jin led Herbert Smith Freehills Kewei Joint Operation’s Alternative Legal Services business to provide high-efficiency solutions for verification and other document-intensive processes during the offering, assisted by senior legal analyst Jean Zhou, and legal analysts Chloe Hu, Jarros Fang, Kate Shen, Chunqin Li and Ling Sun.
