Herbert Smith Freehills advises CICC as sole sponsor on Neusoft Xikang’s Hong Kong IPO

Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised China International Capital Corporation (CICC) as the sole sponsor of Neusoft Xikang Holdings Inc. (09686.HK)’s listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Neusoft Xikang developed China’s first city-specific cloud hospital platform, and has since expanded its network to connects local governments, medical institutions, patients and insurers to enable equitable access to medical resources and more effective and efficient delivery of healthcare. As of 31 March 2023, the company has the largest cloud hospital network in China in terms of the number of cities covered, according to Frost & Sullivan.

“We congratulate Neusoft Xikang, one of China’s leading digital healthcare providers, on its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange,” said China Managing Partner Matt Emsley. “We are delighted to have worked with the company and its sole sponsor on this IPO and wish them continued success.”

Herbert Smith Freehills leads the legal market in advising sponsors and underwriters on Hong Kong IPOs. In the past two years, the firm has advised on 17 successful listings in Hong Kong, ranking third among 65 international and local law firms in Hong Kong, according to Ryanben Capital.

“This is just the latest medical service company that we have advised on a Hong Kong listing in recent years,” said Hong Kong senior registered foreign lawyer Stanley Xie. “From traditional industries to innovative sectors, we look forward to continuing our support to clients for their fundraising activities.”

Partners Matt Emsley, Stanley Xie (Senior Registered Foreign Lawyer) and Jin Kong (Senior Registered Foreign Lawyer) jointly led a cross-office team advising the sole sponsor, assisted by Agatha Shen (International Partner), Sean Ji (Counsel), Christina Wang (Associate) and Katherine Chen (Legal Assistant) from the Joint Operation with Kewei in Shanghai, Brian Ge (Senior Associate) and Bryan Zhu (Associate) from Beijing, Echo Shen (Senior Associate), Kaiwen Sun (Associate), Bryan Cheung (Associate), Hilary Chong (Legal Manager) and Emily Wan (Paralegal) from Hong Kong.

Legal manager Marine Jin led Herbert Smith Freehills Kewei Joint Operation’s Alternative Legal Services business to provide high-efficiency solutions for verification and other document-intensive processes during the listing, assisted by legal analysts Chunqin Li and Jarros Fang.
