A team of Houston-based lawyers advised Special Olympics International as it entered into an alliance agreement with Topgolf. Under this agreement, the sport of topgolf will become an officially sanctioned Special Olympics event, and Topgolf and SOI, along with local Special Olympics organizations (such as Special Olympics Texas), will partner to host practices, competitions, and Pro-Ams at Topgolf facilities across the United States and internationally, enabling Special Olympic athletes to train and compete at topgolf individually or with a team. This innovative agreement also represents the first time a brand has become a medaled event at the Special Olympics.
In addition, as a result of Latham’s pro bono work, Topgolf will leverage its relationships to aid Special Olympics International and its local organizations in fundraising efforts.
The Latham team includes partner Bruce Herzog and associate Benjamin Gelfand.
