What is Green (R)evolution?
Under the leadership of the Secretary-General, United Nations, governments have advanced international efforts to fight, mitigate and adapt to climate change. At the Climate Conference (COP) in Cancun in 2010, governments adopted the Cancun agreements, forming the basis for the largest-ever collective effort to reduce carbon emissions and address the long-term challenges of climate change.
Green (R)evolution is an Initiative to Educate, Inspire and Act on Mitigation & Adaptation methods of Climate Change. The program is an initiative of an organisation based in Mumbai known as ICCE i.e. International Center for Culture and Education collaborated with the UNITED NATIONS, NASA, WORLD BANK and GOVERNMENT OF INDIA. Anyone who is of age 14 and above can participate in this program.
“You will find all the information about the program here. The program, is a self study course onĀ ClimateĀ Change. You will get the study material and a Multimedia CD from ICCE and after you go through it, you have to give an online exam in April/May as per your convenience. The Online exam would be subjective and opinion based with no right or wrong answer and you’ll be graded A+, A, B+ or B. One person from each college gets an A+ and will be felicitated. On completion of the course, you’ll be certified by ICCE and UNFCCC. Now the cost of the program is Rs 750 and it covers everything. You might be wondering why you should pay that kind of amount and what benefit you’ll be getting. So, I’ll tell you that. The resources and the study material are from NASAĀ ClimateChange, UNFCCC and World Bank Institute. Not only do these organizations support the program but so does the Government of India. Your certification would be internationally recognized and the Seed pencil activity counts as Social Work. So it will not only enhance your CV, but also build your profile credibility and help you if you wish to go for higher studies or when you go for a job interview.”
