Freshfields announced that Denny Kwon has joined the firm’s corporate and M&A practice in Silicon Valley.
Denny brings 25 years of experience representing companies on their most important M&A and other strategic transactions, including acquisitions and sales of public and private companies, strategic investments, joint ventures and purchases or divestitures of businesses or product lines.
“Denny is a fantastic lawyer with a sterling reputation in the Bay Area as a result of his having repeatedly led so many important transactions with care, efficiency and sensitivity to the needs of clients. His experience, tirelessness and creativity have made him an absolute client favorite,” said Co-Head of U.S. M&A Ethan Klingsberg.
U.S. Managing Partner Sarah Solum added: “We are thrilled to welcome Denny to Freshfields and our market-leading M&A practice in the Bay Area. Denny is a perfect fit for the growing needs of our technology and life sciences clients in particular and a wonderful addition to the firm.”
Denny noted: “Freshfields’ strong team of M&A partners and its culture focused on client service and satisfaction is what drew me to the firm – it clearly stands out among other leading law firms. I’m excited to join a team of passionate lawyers focused on supporting clients’ business goals with world-class results.”
Denny joins a team ranked Band One for Corporate/M&A by Chambers Global and that finished 2023 in the number one position in Bloomberg’s cross-border M&A league table (by value). Additionally, Freshfields finished 2023 in the top 10 in Bloomberg’s U.S. M&A league table after having led $195 billion in total U.S. M&A deal volume last year.
Denny is the latest to join Freshfields in the firm’s Silicon Valley office following strategic risk and crisis management partners Beth George and Megan Kayo, antitrust litigator Tina Sessions and Global Chief Innovation Officer Gil Perez. The firm’s corporate practice in New York was recently bolstered by the additions of private equity M&A partners Neal Reenan and Ian Bushner last month, as well as M&A partners Sanjay Murti and Steven Li earlier this year.
