Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that Jeffrey “Jeff” Bowman has joined the firm’s Salt Lake City office as a partner in the Transactions Practice Group and Innovative Technology Sector, further expanding Foley’s presence in the city’s thriving startup environment.
Bowman brings extensive experience representing emerging growth companies, entrepreneurs, and investors, primarily in the areas of corporate, securities, and M&A. His representation of companies spans the entire corporate life cycle, from formation to exit, including pre-incorporation business advice, general corporate counseling, financings, technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other day-to-day business matters relevant to rapidly growing companies.
“Jeff brings an established track record of repeated success in the transactional and emerging technology fields,” said Michael Okaty, co-chair of Foley’s Transactions Practice Group. “His reputation and skill set will make him a strong contributor and valuable asset to our clients as we continue growing our corporate practice in Salt Lake City.”
Bowman works with companies of all sizes, ranging from single founders to companies valued in excess of $1 billion in a broad range of industries, including SaaS, fintech, biotechnology, life sciences, digital health, Web 3.0, marketing and sales tech, edtech, e-commerce, consumer products, and financial and other professional services. He also represents venture capital firms, private equity firms, and angel investors investing in emerging companies nationwide.
“Salt Lake City is a significant market for our clients and the firm. Jeff’s extensive transactional experience, combined with his strong Utah roots, is the ideal fit as we continue to focus on growing our presence in the region,” said David Wright, managing partner of the firm’s Salt Lake City office. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
“I see compelling synergies between my practice and Foley’s national, sector-driven platform,” said Bowman. “The firm’s rapidly growing transactional practice, global reach, and strength advising emerging growth companies, venture capital funds and private equity funds made this move very appealing. I’m pleased to join such a stellar team and look forward to continuing to expand on the firm’s national transactions practice.”
Foley’s Salt Lake City office has expanded significantly since its opening in October 2021. The office has grown to 30 attorneys spanning multiple practice areas, including corporate and real estate, building upon its already strong presence in intellectual property and business litigation. In August 2022, the office relocated to an enhanced space in the newest modern office building in the heart of Salt Lake City to accommodate its rapid growth.
