Foley Continues Orlando Expansion with Addition of Litigation Partner Michael Crosbie

Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Michael “Mike” Crosbie has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Litigation Department and Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Orlando office. Crosbie is the latest addition to Foley’s growing Orlando office, building upon the momentum of the recent arrival of Partners Todd Miller, Andrew Finkelstein, and Of Counsel Richard Caron.

Crosbie is a well-known litigator with nearly three decades of experience in a range of complex commercial matters, including class actions, shareholder disputes, covenants not-to-compete, and business torts. His experience also extends to intellectual property disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Crosbie’s clients include banks, investment funds, financial consultants, real estate developers, publishers, construction companies, entertainment groups, venture capital entities, and emerging medical and technology companies.

Beyond his private practice, Crosbie spent several years in-house, where he served as chief legal counsel for a publicly traded development and travel company. In that role, he monitored and managed outsourced legal work that included litigation and securities matters, human resources, employment and administrative issues, real estate sales, SEC filings, and contract negotiation.

“Mike is a skilled trial lawyer and trusted advisor who adds considerable depth to our litigation practice at Foley,” said Mike Gay, chair of the firm’s Litigation Department and Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. “In addition to having firsthand knowledge of the in-house counsel role, Mike understands what it takes to find success in high-stakes litigation. He will be a valuable resource to our clients, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to the Foley family.”

“Mike’s addition is the latest in a string of high-caliber talent we have attracted to broaden our service offerings in Central Florida,” said Bill Guthrie, managing partner of Foley’s Orlando office. “His local ties and depth of experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients and further diversify our litigation practice in Florida and nationally.”

In addition to his legal work, Crosbie is active in the local community and supports a number of organizations. He is the past president and chairman of the Orange County Regional History Center and is a founding board member of the First Tee of Central Florida. Crosbie also served on the boards of the Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida and United Arts of Central Florida.

“After more than a decade away, the time has come for me to return to Foley, and I couldn’t be more enthused to have the opportunity to work again with so many outstanding lawyers,” said Crosbie. “I’m also energized by Foley’s national platform and vast practice group offerings, particularly as it relates to securities, tax, and real estate law. I’m excited to return ‘home’ and look forward to leveraging the depth of Foley’s capabilities to provide the highest level of service to my clients.”
