DLA Piper represented Raven Capital Management and Sculptor Media in the financing and production of The Minuteman, a feature film starring Liam Neeson that is set to begin production on September 9.
New York and Los Angeles-based Sculptor Media is a motion picture and television finance and production company backed by a New York-based institutional private equity firm. The company focuses on financing commercial, independent film productions for worldwide distribution.

The DLA Piper team was led by partners Robert J. Sherman, co-chair of the firm’s Entertainment Finance practice, and David Markman, co-chair of the Entertainment Transactions practice, and included associates Katherine Imp, Erica Dixon and Daniel Zar (all of Los Angeles).
DLA Piper previously represented Raven Capital Management in its US$87.5 million acquisition of certain assets of Academy Award®-winning Hollywood studio Open Road Films. The Open Road film library includes such notable films as Best Picture Oscar®-winner Spotlight, Bleed for This, Chef, Dope, End of Watch, The Grey, Homefront, Killer Elite, Marshall, Nightcrawler, The Nut Job, Side Effects, Snowden and Triple 9. The acquired library has an aggregate worldwide box office of US$1.3 billion.
