DLA Piper advised British Columbia-based PRT Growing Services Ltd. (PRT), one of the world’s largest producers of forest seedlings, in its recent acquisition of International Forest Company (IFCO). The transaction accelerates PRT’s growth and establishes PRT as the largest North American reforestation platform.
Based in the Southeast, IFCO owns five bareroot and six container nurseries located strategically across six states, producing 290 million forest seedlings annually. The company also operates and maintains seed orchards in seven states.
“It was a privilege to advise PRT in this pivotal transaction that will expand PRT’s reach across a key geographic region,” said Jay Tannon, the DLA Piper attorney who led the deal team. “Our legal services team was proud to deploy an extensive range of M&A offerings to help accomplish this business combination.”
In addition to Tannon (Washington, DC), the DLA Piper team included partners Amy Carbins (Washington, DC), Julia Kovacs (Washington, DC), Paul Myers (Baltimore), Jordan Bailowitz (Baltimore), Jeffrey Salinger (New York), Jamie Konn (Atlanta) and James Bookhout (Dallas) and associates Jaspreet Mann (San Francisco), Julie Franki (Atlanta), John DiPasquale (Philadelphia) and Dan Rosenberg, Erica Holmes and Emily Campo (all in Washington, DC).
