DLA Piper has advised Munich-based real estate investment manager Catella Real Estate AG on the acquisition of a mixed-use property in downtown Cologne for the AVW European Real Estate Fund. The property is located in the Carré Breite Straße 161-167 in Cologne and is part of a building ensemble consisting of three office and commercial buildings with space for office and practice use, co-working, retail and apartments.
Catella Real Estate AG is a leading European provider of real estate investments in the field of open-ended special funds, open-ended public funds and special mandates. The Munich-based company is active in real estate fund management and real estate investment and is part of the Catella Group.
DLA Piper advised Catella Real Estate AG on this acquisition under the leadership of partner Dr Martin Haller. The team further comprised senior associate Dr Manuel Indlekofer, associates Thomas Herbst and Dr Lilian Gutkin and transaction lawyer Coletta Braun (all Real Estate, Munich). Partner Dr Marie-Theres Rämer and associate Anastasia Max (both based in Frankfurt) advised on the tax aspects of the transaction.
