Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces that Ash Banerjee has been named Global Chief Information Officer.

Having joined Dentons in 2021 as Chief Information Officer in an interim capacity, Ash brings more than 25 years of experience leading technology and digital transformations across complex organizations. He will continue his efforts leading Dentons’ technology transformation as the Firm’s full-time CIO and will drive Dentons’ technology innovation around the globe. Ash will report directly to Elliott Portnoy, Dentons’ Global Chief Executive Officer, and will sit on the Firm’s Global Management Committee.

Prior to joining Dentons, Ash served as Hogan Lovells’s Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the Americas region, leading a global team of more than 300 employees. Previously, Ash was Chief Information Officer at WilmerHale, and served in senior technology-focused roles at EMI Music, Equant, Global One, and Heidrick & Struggles.

“I am delighted to officially appoint Ash as full-time Global Chief Information Officer,” said Global CEO Elliott Portnoy. “Ash’s vision for advancing our technology transformation during his interim tenure has been exceptional. I am confident that he will help Dentons achieve a best-in-class, integrated business technology function that allows our people to best serve clients in a digitally-enabled environment.”

Ash’s appointment is the latest in a series of critical additions Dentons has made to its global leadership team, including Billy Curley as Global Chief Financial Officer, Aragon St-Charles as Global Head of ESG, Neelima Paladugu as Global Chief People Officer and Kate Broer as Global Head of Inclusion & Diversity.

“Ash brings unparalleled transformation experience to our global leadership team,” said Global Chairman Joe Andrew. “In an ever-changing world, Dentons’ clients and colleagues are already benefitting from innovative technology and information initiatives which will help them navigate challenges and advance opportunities.”

“I am honored to continue as Dentons’ Global Chief Information officer in a full-time capacity,” said Ash Banerjee. “I look forward to leading strategic information and technology initiatives, in order to tackle the challenges that our Firm faces, and to identify opportunities that will positively impact our clients and our people, and to help build an amazing digitally enabled firm.”

Ash holds a Master of Engineering Degree from Cambridge University, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
