Dentons, the largest law firm in Poland and globally, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Warsaw office this year. The concern for future generations and the need to support local communities, reinforced by the unprecedented circumstances, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, mean that the way it is celebrated will differ from the conventional celebrations that the legal market in Poland is used to .
Thank you for 30 years of cooperation
“In 1991, a modest office was opened in Warsaw’s Podwale district, which today, under the Dentons brand, is not only the largest law firm in Poland, but also part of the largest law firm in the world. The scale and momentum with which we support our clients on a daily basis prompts us to look for a special way to sum up these last 30 years of exceptionally effective team work. Departing from all traditional formulae for such anniversary celebrations, we have decided to initiate a series of projects that will be our way of thanking the community we are an integral part of”, said Arkadiusz KrasnodÄ™bski, Managing Partner of Dentons in Poland.
Starting the #1YearChallenge
To mark the anniversary, Dentons launches of the #1YearChallenge project, consisting of 12 initiatives to be implemented throughout 2021. Beginning in January, each month will be linked to a specific challenge that will engage Dentons’ employees, clients and the community. Individual projects will be concentrated on creating useful and valuable initiatives aiming at supporting culture, education, environmental programs and local community activities, with a particular focus on Warsaw’s PowiĹ›le district, where Dentons is headquartered.
Each element of the #1YearChallenge project will relate to one of the fundamental values on which Dentons is founded. These are: collaboration, passion, polycentricity, value creation and forward thinking. The planned initiatives will show ways to put these values into practice, in line with the needs and expectations of Warsaw residents. Dentons’ initiative is supported by the capital’s authorities, with the mayor of ĹšrĂłdmieĹ›cie district taking it under his patronage with the slogan “Fall in love with Warsaw”; the project is also supported by TOK FM radio.
Opening up to the celebrations
“Dentons in Poland is a close-knit team of nearly 500 people, but globally we rely on the strength of more than 10,000 lawyers working in nearly 200 offices, located in 80 countries on 6 continents. Our polycentricity implies no dominant corporate culture and a structure that allows us to capitalize on the full potential of the local communities in which the firm operates. The 30th anniversary celebrations will be open to the citizens of Warsaw and other people willing to get involved in our projects. We believe that this is the optimal, modern formula that best suits the situation in which we all find ourselves today. The pandemic requires solidarity and collaboration, as well as more thought on how we ourselves can get involved and share our resources and talents. Therefore, on behalf of the entire Dentons team, I invite you to join us in this adventure, the #1YearChallenge festival of initiatives”, added Arkadiusz KrasnodÄ™bski.
The firm has launched a 30th anniversary celebration page, #1YearChallenge, which will feature a call for future projects and a summary of monthly initiatives, as well as archival photos. It will also be supported by a Facebook fanpage dedicated to the anniversary, @Dentons1YearChallenge.
