Dentons HPRP has successfully assisted Aercap, the world’s largest aircraft lessor company in the aviation industry, in an aircraft lease transaction with PT Rusky Aero Indonesia (Raindo United Services) (“PT RAI”), the first start-up cargo airline in Indonesia. Recently, the two companies held the signing ceremony for the lease of 2 (two) Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft (MSNs 32685 and 32690) at the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore (31/3).
In this valuable agreement for both parties, Dentons HPRP’s aviation team, led by Partners, Andre Rahadian and Hendra Ong, and supported by Ken Atyk Nastiti (Senior Associate) and Gregorius Alisander Ponglapik (Associate), was appointed as the Indonesian counsel to provide legal assistance by, among others, representing the client in the negotiations, reviewing the transaction documents and other documents for the fulfilment of the conditions precedent and conditions subsequent from an Indonesian law perspective, as well as filing the authorities’ requirements. Moreover, Dentons HPRP’s team is also assisting PT RAI in establishing a French Special Purpose Vehicle, namely Rusky Aero French S.A.S.
Established in 2022, PT RAI is the first start-up cargo airline in Indonesia which will use an intermediary software application to receive orders from customers. It will focus on cargo services with domestic and international routes.
