entons, the world’s largest law firm, has announced the recruitment of Matthew Cahill in Ireland – the second banking and finance partner to be hired into the firm’s rapidly expanding Dublin office in the space of a few weeks.
Matthew is currently Head of Structured Finance & Securitisation and Debt Capital Markets at William Fry. Previously a partner at Clifford Chance in London, he advises on structured finance, securitisation, capital markets and derivative transactions as well as general banking and finance matters.
‘After a successful first two years we are continuing to grow in Dublin and Matthew’s arrival is consistent with our vision of building a high calibre senior team,’ said UK, Ireland and Middle East CEO Paul Jarvis. ‘As an Irish and English dual qualified lawyer who will spend time in London as well as Dublin, Matthew’s expertise will also enhance the strength of the broader regional structured finance practice.’
Matthew’s recruitment follows the recent hire of Siobhan Carlin, a general banking lawyer specialising in real estate investment, development finance and project finance.
‘Matthew will add high quality capital markets and structured finance expertise to a busy team that expects to see further growth in the securitisation and structured products market in Ireland’, said Ireland Managing Partner Eavan Saunders. ‘We are building a team that is really making its presence felt in the Irish market.’
Dentons has been shortlisted in the ‘Law Firm of the Year: Republic of Ireland’ category at The Lawyer’s European Awards 2022.
