Global law firm Dentons has advised Hanseatic Energy Hub in relation to the Shipper Agreements which set the conditions for the access of shippers to the LNG-terminal of Hanseatic in Germany.

The first land-based LNG terminal in Stade in Germany will play a crucial role for the future security of gas supply and therefore energy independency and energy transition in Germany. With a total capacity of 13.3 billion cubic meters per year and a total investment volume of approximately €1.6 billion, the Hanseatic LNG-terminal is a milestone for the German energy market.

This project shows Dentons’ strong footprint in the LNG market, based on solid knowledge of the international LNG-market, the German regulatory regime and the seamless interaction between Dentons UK and Dentons Germany.

The cross-border Dentons team was co-led by UK Partner Charles Wood and Counsel David Tennant (both Energy/Infrastructure) and Germany Partner Dr. Gabriele Haas (Energy/Regulatory). The London team was assisted by Partner Roger Matthews (Foreign Trade Law), Counsel Matthew Vinall, Associate Angela Cheng and Trainee Alexandra Velizariova (both Energy/Infrastructure). The team from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf included Counsel Hilke Schmitt (Corporate/Commercial), Senior Associate Dr. Thea Bauer (Regulatory), Partner  Dr. Julia Pfeil (Foreign Trage Law), Partner Thomas Nebel (Projects) as well as Partners Dr. Arne Klüwer and Dr. Axel Schlieter (both Banking & Finance).
