David M. Hutchins, who served as the General Counsel of North America Private Investments at Bain Capital, has joined Ropes & Gray. David will be a partner in the firm’s private equity practice.
“We are excited to welcome David to the firm. His knowledge is unique in the industry. At Bain, David had the opportunity to see—and think through—the most complex and challenging PE issues. He brings that view and experience to Ropes & Gray,” said Julie Jones, chair.
At Bain, David advised Bain’s North America Private Equity, Ventures, Life Sciences, Double Impact and Tech Opportunities teams. He advised investors and legal teams on an array of ambitious mergers, acquisitions, take-privates, minority and majority investments, fund formations, and led teams that advised on day-to-day management of Bain’s portfolio companies.
Prior to Bain, David worked at two global law firms and as a senior associate at PwC.
David is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys.
