Clifford Chance appoints new Managing Partner in Amsterdam

Global law firm Clifford Chance today announces the appointment of Mark-Jan Arends as the new Managing Partner for its Amsterdam office, effective 1 January 2026. Mark-Jan succeeds Titus de Vries, who has led a period of significant growth for Clifford Chance as a global firm in the Netherlands. He managed the partnership’s generational change -with 11 new partner appointments in the past seven years-, ensured a strong client focus and strengthened global strategic client relationships.

Mark-Jan Arends joined Clifford Chance in 2014 and was appointed to the partnership in 2015. He currently heads the Corporate practice in Amsterdam, leading a team that advises major national and international clients on complex and strategic matters. Mark-Jan aims to continue promoting the firm’s growth and profitability and implementing the global strategy.
