Clifford Chance advises SD Guthrie International on its investment in Marvesa

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised SD Guthrie International Limited (SDGI), formerly known as Sime Darby Oils International Limited, on its acquisition of a 48% equity interest in Netherlands-based Marvesa Supply Chain Services B.V. (Marvesa), from Parcom, a Dutch private equity firm. The acquisition strengthens SDGI’s presence in Europe, where it serves customers in 11 countries from its Zwijndrecht refinery in the Netherlands.

SDGI is a wholly-owned subsidiary and the downstream arm of SD Guthrie Berhad, one of the world’s largest producers of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil. Marvesa is a well-established name in the European market, specialising in the sourcing, blending, and distribution of oils and fats to the animal feed and biofuel industries.

The Clifford Chance team was led by Jan-Hendrik Horsmeier and further consisted of Ernst van der Touw, Nancy Stoke, Polly Huls, Dolyne Munyampeta, Jasper Leistra (Corporate M&A), Sabrina Spoor, Agha Kader (Notary), Sanne Blankestijn, Najib Muslem (Employment), Michiel Sunderman, Alec Sanderson (Tax), Lotte de Bruin, Charlotte Horsten, Niels Kuil, Ahmad Zaheri (Energy & Resources), Orsolya Gondos, Viola Lam (Tech//Digital), Jurre Jurriens, Claire Blaisdell (Antitrust), Folko de Vries and Yasmin Johnson (Global Financial Markets).
