Global law firm Clifford Chance is advising KKR in its strategic partnership with Carlyle to acquire an approximately US$10.1 billion portfolio of prime student loans from Discover Financial Services.

The Clifford Chance team comprising of different practices is led by private equity partner Neil Barlow and asset-backed finance partner Robert Villani and assisted by counsel Joshua Bernard, partners Alistair Dunlop, Darren Littlejohn and Jim Gouwar and associates Eric Schaffer and Matt Bergerud.
