Clifford Chance advises Citi and ICBC Standard Bank on Halkbank’s landmark AT1 issuance

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Citi and ICBC Standard Bank on the issuance by Türkiye Halk Bankası A.Ş. (Halkbank) of US$300,000,000 Perpetual Fixed Rate Resettable Additional Tier 1 Notes.

This transaction marks another significant transaction in the Turkish capital markets and underscores the firm’s expertise in complex cross-border financings.

The Clifford Chance team was led by partners Matt Fairclough and Sait Eryilmaz, with support from senior associates Jeffery Hung, Alican Altıparmak, associate Alper Eski, and trainee Felicity Marlow. Partner Bruce Kahl and associate Robert Hartman also advised BNY in its role as trustee.
