Global law firm Clifford Chance advised the lenders (Nordic Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and Swedbank) in connection with a project finance term loan of up to EUR 318 million granted for the construction and operation of the Kelme wind farm in Lithuania – the largest wind energy project in the Baltic region. Ignitis Group acted as sponsor in the project. The Kelme wind farm has a capacity of 314 MW, and will generate enough renewable electricity to power around 250,000 Lithuanian households.

The Clifford Chance team advising on the English law aspects of the transaction was led by Mateusz Chruściak (Counsel) under the supervision of Irena Floras-Goode (Partner). The team also included Joanna Korycińska (Associate), Mateusz Leleno (Associate) and Maciej Kujawa (Associate).
