KIMEP School of Law seeks applications from entry-level candidates with excellent academic records and demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching and scholarship to begin in the 2018-2019 academic year.
Our hiring needs are flexible, though we have a particular interest in knowledge of Kazakhstan law in the following areas: labor, tax, administrative, environmental/energy law.
Candidates should demonstrate 1) a strong academic background, 2) a capacity for and commitment to excellence in scholarship, and 3) a capacity for and commitment to be an effective teacher and a willingness to spend time outside of class working with students. Applicants must include a cover letter indicating the area of interest, a current CV, and two references.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD or JD in a law or related field from a recognized, accredited university, at time of application;
- Fluent in English;
- Record of on-going research engagement or strong publication potential
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with a record of demonstrated competence in teaching face to face and on-line will be given extra consideration.

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after-tax compares favorably with net salaries in western countries. Limited on-campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, a benefits package includes basic healthcare, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, subsidy for children’s school tuition and relocation allowance. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
