Baker McKenzie adds M&A/Private Equity Partner Michael Doumet

Over the past ten years, Michael Doumet has developed a recognized expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity. He regularly advises listed and non-listed corporations in their acquisitions and divestitures, as well as investment funds on their leveraged buyout transactions, both domestic and cross-border.

The new appointment consolidates Baker McKenzie’s position as a “transactional powerhouse” on the French market. “I am thrilled to welcome Michael to the M&A/Private Equity team,” said StĂ©phane Davin, Head of Baker McKenzie’s M&A/Private Equity practice in Paris. “His talent, experience and international background are valuable assets which will bolster our expertise in private equity and, more specifically, our offering to French and international investment funds. Michael’s arrival highlights our commitment to support our clients in their most complex transactions, and our desire to constantly improve the quality of the advice we provide to help our clients navigate through the strategic legal issues they face.”

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Michael practiced for more than eight years in the Private Equity/M&A team of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Paris. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School (Master of Laws), Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (Master 2 in Banking and Financial law) and Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut (Master in Private Law). Michael is fluent in English, French and Arabic and is admitted to practice in New York, Paris and Beirut.
