Anice C.N. Granville positioned to co-lead Dentons’ Caribbean-wide Corporate & Commercial practice

Dentons Delany strengthens its Legal 500 and Chambers Global recognized Cross-Caribbean Corporate and M&A offering with the recruitment of Anice C.N. Granville as Partner – Corporate and Commercial in Barbados.

Anice joins the Firm’s executive leadership bringing over two decades of experience with over 17 years of expertise in the area of corporate and commercial law gleaned in the capacity of associate, promoted to partner, at one of Barbados’ larger legal firms. Clients particularly value her extensive experience and collaborative approach to handling complex financing, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions.

Anice has an impressive record of accomplishments, having consulted with domestic and global clients, including financial institutions, in both an advisory and transactional capacity on complex matters involving corporate restructuring and financing, divestment of assets including hotel business and property, property development, secured lending and enforcement of security generally.

She is slated to co-lead efforts to implement corporate best practice throughout the Firm’s regional footprint. Anice will also play an active role in the mentorship of junior talent.

“I am excited to be part of the realization of Dentons’ vision to solidify its position as the leading Pan-Caribbean law practice in the region. The importance of Pan-Caribbeanism and the consolidation of legal service within the Caribbean region cannot be overstated in a smaller global economy.” stated Anice Granville. “I join a team of visionaries who are keen on growth and development in the region, and I am indeed eager to do my part and to add my flair and expertise to the vision of the firm. I look forward to collaborating with the expanded regional team, servicing our clients doing business in Barbados and the wider region.” she continued.

Dustin Delany, Chair and Regional Managing Partner commented “As our firm readies for the celebration of our fifth year since our combination with Dentons and ten years total in existence, we see as one of our greatest accomplishments the assembly of the region’s top tiered talent comprising our team of attorneys and other professionals throughout the Caribbean. Our leadership has long admired Anice’s capabilities and professionalism. Needless to say, we were beyond elated when she expressed a desire to join our team bringing even more depth and experience to our firm. The primary beneficiaries of this will be our clients, however, given Anice’s appetite for mentoring, our younger attorneys and other professionals will also benefit. It’s been a long five years building out our firm, however, today, I love what I see when I look across the region.”

Within the first quarter of 2023, all of four partnership appointments have been women. Tricia-Gaye O’Connor assumed the post of Managing Partner – Jamaica in March, Rosalind L. C. Bynoe was appointed to the post of Partner – Corporate and Commercial in Barbados, and Rachel Juliet Welch-Phillips was appointed as Lead Partner – ESG and Sustainable Finance, and Partner – Corporate and Commercial – Trinidad and Tobago in January.
