Todd Beauchamp brings extensive regulatory and transactional expertise in the ever-evolving payments and fintech space to further bolster the firm’s unparalleled global practice and continue its rapid U.S. growth.

Allen & Overy (“A&O”) announced that Todd Beauchamp has joined as a partner in the firm’s Corporate department, based in the Washington, D.C. office, to lead the firm’s U.S. Payments practice. He represents traditional financial institutions, non-bank financial services companies, as well as technology companies, on the full spectrum of regulatory, transactional and general corporate fintech-related matters.

“As digital transformation accelerates and the emphasis on electronic payments and crypto assets continues to grow and evolve in the U.S. and globally, Todd’s extensive knowledge of emerging payment technologies, and the associated regulatory and commercial landscapes, will elevate our fintech practice to the next level,” said Tim House, U.S. senior partner. “We are delighted to welcome Todd, one of the most well-respected, experienced payments and fintech practitioners in the U.S., to further expand our comprehensive fintech offering to clients around the world.”

Todd commented: “I have long admired A&O’s unparalleled global range and depth in the fintech space, and this is an exciting opportunity to leverage my experience at a globally elite firm during a time of increasingly rapid evolution and regulatory focus. I look forward to working alongside the firm’s incredibly nimble and talented team.”

Todd holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. He has been featured in Global Banking Regulation Review’s 45 Under 45 and has been consistently recognized by Chambers and The Legal 500 US as a top lawyer in the area of financial services regulation, payments, and fintech. Todd joins A&O from Latham & Watkins, where he served as Global Co-Chair of the Fintech Industry Group and Leader of the firm’s Payments and Emerging Financial Services Practice.

Todd joins together with senior counsel Charles Weinstein, who most recently served as Senior Legal Counsel at Twitter, where he covered global legal and regulatory matters related to payments and digital assets.
