Dentons has advised Orbis, a part of AccorInvest, a European hotel investor and operator, on the sale of the legendary five-star Sofitel Grand Sopot hotel to Sinfam Investments, the Polish company investing in premium hotel properties. Accor Group will continue to operate the hotel.
With almost 100 years of history, Sofitel Grand Sopot is one of the most prestigious hotels in Poland. The property is located on the Sopot beach, near the longest wooden pier in Europe. Hotel guests can enjoy a private beach, a garden, 126 rooms and suites that perfectly reflect the unique atmosphere of the seaside resort. Sofitel Grand Sopot has hosted hundreds of distinguished figures: monarchs, presidents, prime ministers and stars of stage and film, and has itself “starred” in many films or TV series on many occasions.
In 2008 the hotel changed its name from Grand Hotel to Sofitel Grand Sopot and became part of the Accor Group’s Sofitel chain. The rebranding was a part of the modernization and transformation of the property into a luxury hotel of international standards.
This year’s transaction is a part of AccorInvest’s transformation plan to consolidate the entire Group’s property portfolio around its most profitable assets, mainly in the economy and midscale segments in Europe.
The deal was led by partner Piotr Staniszewski and senior associate Kamil Igielski.
