The Competition team of Linklaters Paris led by Anne Wachsmann, Partner, advised Groupement Les Mousquetaires, the third-largest retail chain in France, on the notification to the French Competition Authority of Intermarché’s acquisition of 200 stores from Groupe Casino.
This major transaction was approved on Thursday 28 November by the French Competition Authority following a Phase 1 review with commitments, having benefitted from a derogation from the standstill obligation. It follows an initial transaction consisting of the acquisition of 61 stores from the same chain, authorised on 11 January 2024.
