DLA Piper has advised Polenergia, the largest private energy group in Poland, on the establishment of a Green Bond issuance program (in accordance with Green Bond Principles) for an amount of PLN1 billion, along with the issuance of the first tranche of Green Bonds with a total nominal value of PLN750 million. The majority of the proceeds will be allocated towards financing the development, purchase, construction, and operation of offshore wind farms. The Green Bonds will be admitted to trading on the Catalyst bond market.
The Green Bonds offering was directed solely to qualified investors and benefited from an exemption from the obligation to publish a prospectus. The dealers for the offering were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A., mBank S.A., and Santander Bank Polska S.A., while the issuing agent was Santander Bank Polska S.A. – Santander Brokerage Office.
