DLA Piper advised Ghost Robotics, a leader in legged robotics, in a strategic partnership with LIG Nex1, a South Korean defense technology company, in which LIG Nex1 will acquire a 60 percent controlling stake in Ghost Robotics for US$240 million, valuing the company at US$400 million.
The acquisition will enable Ghost Robotics to leverage LIG Nex1’s extensive experience and capabilities in defense technology and manufacturing to further accelerate scaling.
The DLA Piper deal team was led by Andrew Gilbert (Short Hill), US chair of the Corporate practice, and partner James Fischer (Short Hills) as well as partners Victoria Lee (Palo Alto), co-chair of the Technology and Life Sciences Licensing and Commercial Transactions group and Nicholas Klein (Washington, DC), co-chair of the CFIUS and FDI practice.Ā The team also included associates Madison Riede, Alexis Elder and Minal Patel (all in Short Hills).
