Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised UK Export Finance (UKEF) and Standard Chartered Bank with the EUR 249 million UKEF and KUKE-covered green financing to Kalyon Enerji, a leading player in the energy sector, for the financing of the Anka Solar Park Project.
The Anka Solar Park Project involves the development of seven solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across the provinces of Niğde, Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa, with an aggregate production capacity of 390 MWp, marking Türkiye’s second-largest solar project to date.
The financing marks another step towards the net zero target of Türkiye, and further contributes to reducing Türkiye’s reliance on fossil fuels. The solar project has the capacity to supply renewable energy to over 65,000 households annually in Türkiye.
Clifford Chance’s cross-border team advising on the financing was led by partners Sait Eryılmaz, Nikolaï Eatwell and Graham Brewer with support from senior associates Başar Kırka, Pelinsu Demircan and Angad Chaturvedi, associates Berke Avarkan and Tanvi Pahwa, and trainee lawyer Aykan Karpuzcu.
