Hogan Lovells has advised Pantheon as co-lead investor, alongside Temasek, on seeding a new European private credit fund, West Street European Middle Market Credit Fund, for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The fund vehicle is seeded by a strip of Goldman’s investments in mid-market European loans held on its balance sheet and also contains a primary capital commitment.
The deal is the latest example of an asset manager leveraging the secondaries market to attract new third-party investors.
The Hogan Lovells team that represented Pantheon was Co-head of the Hogan Lovells Secondaries Practice, Ed Harris, London secondaries senior associate Charlotte Monk, London secondaries associate Olivia Wallwork, London Funds partner Jeremy Pickles, London funds associate Sadhbh Browne and London tax counsel Natalie Psaila.
