DLA Piper advised Quimica Delta, a leading chemical distributor, including industrials, lubricants and personal home & care products in Mexico with last mile coverage in Mexico and Central America, in its business combination with Brenntag, the global market leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution. The transaction is subject to the corresponding regulatory approvals granted by the Mexican authorities.

Brenntag is a global chemicals and ingredients distributor connecting customers and suppliers of the chemical industry. With more than 17,700 employees across a network of more than 600 sites in 72 countries, Brenntag provides a full-line portfolio of industrial and specialty chemicals and ingredients as well as application, marketing and supply chain solutions for a wide range of industries.

Quimica Delta has longstanding relations with its supply partners and access to important tollgate infrastructure in the region. Its access to tollgates through marine terminals and last mile infrastructure complements and expands the Brenntag Essentials’ ā€œtripleā€ strategy and positioning in the fast-growing Mexican chemicals market.

ā€œIt was a pleasure working with Quimica Delta’s team, in understanding their unique goals and priorities to close this complex deal. We look forward to continue advising key market players in their growth with our industry experience and legal and business acumen,ā€ said Ɓlvaro Garza, the DLA Piper partner who led the deal team.

The DLA Piper team was led by partner Ɓlvaro Garza and included partners Alvaro Sarmiento, Jorge Benejam, Gabriela AlaƱa, Roberto Rƭos and Guillermo Aguayo (all in Mexico City) and associates Jose Luis Gutierrez, Regina Esparza, Ricardo Mendoza and Andres Calderon (all in Mexico City).

With more than 1,000 corporate lawyers globally, DLA Piper helps clients execute complex transactions seamlessly while supporting clients across all stages of development. The firm has been rated number one in global M&A volume for 14 consecutive years, according to Mergermarket, and ranked as a top five most active VC legal advisor in the US and number one in VC, PE and M&A in combined global deal volume according to PitchBook.
