Session on 'Fast Track to New Criminal Laws'

Join us for an insightful virtual live session organized by Public and Policy in association with Legal Desire, scheduled for 26th May’24, from 7 PM to 8 PM, followed by a Q&A session.

The recent assent given by the Hon’ble President of India to three new criminal law bills, passed by both houses of parliament, marks a significant milestone in the reform of key legislations. These bills aim to modernize the Indian criminal justice system by amending the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act, which have long been rooted in colonial-era laws. The decolonization of British-era criminal laws holds far-reaching implications, necessitating advocacy and discourse to educate stakeholders about the provisions and implications of the new bills.
