Freshfields is advising eBay on a three-part transaction involving Goldin Auctions, LLC (Goldin), which includes a share acquisition by eBay of Goldin from Collectors Holdings, Inc., an asset sale of the eBay Vault to Collectors Universe, Inc. and an ongoing commercial relationship between Collectors and eBay.
Goldin is a New Jersey-based trading platform for trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other collectibles whose founder is featured in the Netflix show “King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch,” and the eBay Vault is a secured, physical storage facility for graded trading cards. The newly established partnership will combine complementary service offerings from each brand to remove friction from and power a sophisticated, integrated program to buy, sell, grade and store trading cards and collectible card games.
