Dentons appoints first-ever Shadow Executive Team

Dentons’ UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region has established its first-ever Shadow Executive Team, enabling executive leadership to tap into a broad range of perspectives and experiences whilst future proofing the firm by giving the next generation of leaders early exposure to executive decision-making. The Shadow Executive Team will bring fresh insights to the topics that matter to the firm, its clients and its people, helping to drive well-informed decisions on Dentons’ key strategic and operational initiatives.

The Shadow Executive Team will be a consultative body comprised of junior partners and senior legal and business services professionals. Members are appointed for 12 months and the group will make recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team, focused on substantive ideas and outputs that can positively impact the firm.

The first cohort brings together colleagues across roles, teams and geographies:

• Sally Marshall – Senior Manager, Talent and Development, London
• Sarah Jackman – Counsel, People Reward and Mobility, Glasgow
• Thembe McInnes – Managing Lawyer, Helix, Glasgow
• Sairah Narmah-Alqasim – Senior Consultant, Corporate, Jeddah
• Tara Boateng – Senior Associate, Litigation & Arbitration, London
• Philip Knight – Partner, Litigation & Arbitration, Glasgow

Members of the Shadow Executive Team will receive specific training plus mentoring from the firm’s executive leadership team including Divisional Leaders and Directors. The Shadow Executive Team will determine its own agenda, considering a range of topics such as how to:

• Best leverage the firm’s unparalleled global reach;
• Further embed the firm’s partnership with O Shaped Lawyer into Dentons’ culture and client relationships;
• Build upon the firm’s first mover advantage gained through the launch of fleetAI by using generative AI and other innovation-driven tech for the benefit of our clients and our business; and
• Enhance and further develop career pathways for business and legal services teams.
