Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Pacifico Energy Partners on a joint venture with Volksbank Mittelhessen. Both companies pool their resources to accelerate the development of renewable energy projects in Germany and the Netherlands.
The joint venture will focus on the development of a portfolio of renewable energy projects with a total capacity of at least 300 MW. The long-term partnership will initially start with the development of photovoltaic projects with a capacity of approximately 130 MWp. Further portfolio growth is envisaged in the short term and can go beyond the development of photovoltaic projects.
Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH is a renewable energy-focused company founded in Munich in 2016 that develops and manages wind power and photovoltaic assets across Europe.
Volksbank Mittelhessen is one of the largest cooperative banks in Germany with total assets of EUR 10.6 billion.
