DLA Piper has advised the gaming platform Aonic on its investment in the Hamburg-based company exmox, a global ad-tech and marketing platform company for nearly USD100 million. Founded in 2015 by Alper Eger, exmox has created a unique ad-tech network that now reaches over 250 million users each month across 180 countries. The investment will significantly strengthen Aonic’s ad-tech platform and create substantial synergies with Aonic’s recent investment in the monetisation and marketing specialist AddApptr. DLA Piper had also advised Aonic on the acquisition of AddApptr.

Aonic is a video gaming collective consisting of development studios as well as gaming-related technology and service providers across all devices. Aonic was created to champion and support high potential, midsized studios which want to be part of a strong group in order to unlock its full potential while maintaining its independent spirit, identity and creative freedom.
