Linklaters is pleased to announce that Joseph Gambino and Peter Williams have joined its New York Capital Markets practice as Structured Finance and Derivatives partners. They are also joined by senior associate Elizabeth Walker.

Joseph focuses his practice on structured credit products, with an emphasis on collateralized loan obligation transactions (CLOs) and structured lending facilities backed by pools of corporate loans and other assets. He advises arrangers and collateral managers of CLOs on regulatory issues and structuring solutions relating to the U.S. securities laws and the U.S. risk retention rules. Joseph has experience representing financial institutions and credit funds in complex financing transactions and representing financial institutions in developing a variety of financial instruments backed by derivatives and insurance-linked products.

Peter focuses on securitizations and structured finance transactions, with an emphasis on CLOs. He has extensive experience advising arrangers, collateral managers and investors in connection with CLOs backed by portfolios of broadly syndicated loans and middle market loans, as well as structured lending facilities backed by portfolios of corporate loans. He regularly advises clients on regulatory issues related to CLOs, and he has represented financial institution counterparties in connection with cash, hybrid and synthetic collateralized debt obligation transactions, derivatives, asset-repackaging programs and insurance-linked products.

Hwang Hwa Sim, Linklaters’ Global Head of Capital Markets commented:
“At Linklaters, we have market-leading capital markets teams in the U.S., the UK, Europe and Asia, which operate seamlessly as one practice. As we continue to draw strength from our global footprint, Joseph and Peter’s broad deal experience and deep background in CLOs adds immense value to our platform.”

Joseph and Peter join a market-leading global CLO practice that maintains one of the deepest and most globally integrated practices in the world with a distinguished track record.

Tom McGrath, Head of Linklaters’ U.S. Global Practice, added:
“Joseph and Peter offer industry-leading expertise with over 40 years of combined experience which will further strengthen our ability to provide clients with high-quality advice as we continue to expand our coverage in the U.S. They’re a welcomed addition to the team.”

Joseph, Peter and Elizabeth join from Alston & Bird where they were highly accomplished structured finance lawyers
