Global law firm Dentons has advised HORIBA Europe GmbH on the acquisition of BeXema GmbH, based in Barleben, Germany. This deal will enable HORIBA to respond to the need for complex development and test solutions for the growing alternative energy and electric vehicle market. It will also gain strategically important access to an innovative manufacturer of power electronics, battery inverters and fuel cells.
Dr. Christoph Papenheim led the multi-competency Dentons team, which advised HORIBA on the transaction.
BeXema is the second electromobility company, which HORIBA has acquired over the last three years. In 2018, HORIBA acquired the German company FuelCon, also based in Barleben. The Dentons team led by partner Dr. Christoph Papenheim also advised on this acquisition. The group is gradually expanding its electrification portfolio and, with the recent acquisition, is extending its own value chain and supplementing its product portfolio in order to respond even faster to customer needs. HORIBA has a long-standing supply relationship with BeXema.
