ABSTRACT

The article describes about the photo manipulation with advance software, Abode Photoshop and its adverse effects in illegal activities.  In the technology binding era, these adaptive are misused for personal interest. Photo manipulation analysis have significant role Forensic for crime detection. As these software are cheap and simple to use, these have influence the normal society negatively which effects the wellness of an individual. Error Level Analysis helps in determining or analysis the manipulations of photos or documents by the variations of layers. This analysis is also discussed.

INTRODUCTION

In the present era, editing or manipulation of images or documents are one among the leading issues faced. Photo manipulation is the deed of changing the photograph by eliminating the info or by adding info deprived of leaving any noticeable hints of altering. Image manipulation are known as image forgeries is  not new in the photography world. Photo alterations can be done with the help of any editing software by any expert. These images helps in manipulations in many case in law enforcement. Alteration or modification of an images are considered to be critical when it comes to harm for human or comes against the law. These are considered to be normal in these days, but there is a chance of using these advanced editing software to completely transform the theme of the image. We have seen numerous images in our day today life, most of them are altered using various editing apps and filters for modification and beautification. For example, adding contrast color, editing the skin tone of an individual in image, background changings etc. These advanced software can be used to modify the documents, where it is considered as manipulations and illegal deeds. Due  to  extensively  spread  of  economical, simplicity in using  and  advance  image editing which are available on the  internet, a digital  photograph can  be effortlessly transformed  even by common individual with the instructions given in the software. Thus this results in elevation in the digital manipulation images quickly in the all social place and the internet. Also this sensation will generate a crucial susceptibilities and decline the importance of the worth digital images. Thus, there is a critical significance in crafting photo manipulation detection algorithm has a countless effect to define the originality and reliability of digital images since these are considered as an evidence in trials. However, a spectator will not be capable to interpret between an original pictures and the modified photo. Providentially, forensic implements are capable to spot any sort of editing software to validate authentication. WinHex, ExifTool, JPEGsnoop, ELA map software etc. are the main useful adaptive for forensic to investigators to solve their case. USE OF ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

Photoshop is universally prominent for delivering experts and artists the facility to manipulate photos and images from the original standard photographic image. Each of these implausible bits of work starts with the usage of a modest tool which is easy to operate. Photoshop has been impacted society equally a negative and positive way. In a negative frame, it fabricates a fashion of unrealistic precision that does not exist in real. With retouched effect is enhancing the discrimination of shades and physical features. Also its is used for the document alterations and morphing of image which come in pornography. On the other hand, this has delivered a positive side for the designing technology and photograph field .The number of layers in the images or document was simple to regulate if PSD, as contrasting to JPEG, documents were operated in Adobe Photoshop. On the other side, if the modified file was kept as a JPEG from Adobe Photoshop, details about the number of layers functional was misplaced and no layer identification can be executed.

MANIPULATIONS OF IMAGES

Image manipulations can done by editing an image using Photoshop. Changing a digitized image for transforming it to a desired image is trending these days. The changes are made possible by resorting to image processing. The manipulations possible to an image using Photoshop are as follows.

• Basic Imaging Settings-Display resolution, color bit depth, color profiles, and other preferences are some of the basic manipulations which can be done through Photoshop.

IMAGE MANIPULATION AND ANALYSIS: IMAGE FORENSIC IDENTIFICATION USING ERROR LEVEL ANALYSIS

The image manipulation and its analysis are considered to be highly significant in forensic field. The advance technologies and software are sometimes used for negative impacts. These includes the morphing of imaging for pornography, elimination and addition of relevant elements which is used as evidence and so on. The key methods used for the image examination are grounded on the following signs:

• Shades– Examine the shadows linked to various entities in the image, this is been assessed by connecting them with the direction of light source. Eyes– Zoom in and compare against other eyes. (Dots/colors give light direction)
• Reflections– Examine that the reflection inside the image is comprehensible.
• EXIF– Assessing of EXIF file data counting GPS site, time and RBG color outline changes.

Error level analysis (ELA) is one among the method used for the examination of compression artifacts in digital information. This identify photo manipulation by resaving the image at a definite quality level and then figuring the difference between the compression points.  In the case where the photos are not modified, dimensions should have comparable error potentials. However, if the photo is modified, the portion of the image that have influenced should have greater error potential than other part of the photo.  ELA operates by deliberately resaving the objective at a well-known  error rate.

CONCLUSION

In this period of cyber-attack and crime, technologies are in its highest frequency of use to execute various crime, such as altering documents to modifying the content to their interest, morphing of image for pornography etc. In this article, we mainly looked into general information regarding alternations in system-generated documents, documents with various prints and effects of alteration of image using Photoshop. The manipulation of the documents and photos which was done with the aid of image processing software applications that is Adobe Photoshop. After manipulating the documents, they were analysed for modifications; reassuring results were attained. The image manipulations are analyzed with various technologies. One among that is Error level Analysis (ELA).The results confirmed that a amount of features were related with image manipulation and could easily be identified using standard image processing applications.
