Drinking and driving? Here’s why you should avoid it at any cost!

When your parents handed over your first car, what was the one thing they told you not to do no matter what? Yes, that’s right, it was not to ride the car under any influence or, in simple words, not to drive when you are drinking.

Well, that’s the advice every parent gives to their children but never really explains why their kids should not drive while drinking. It is kind of passing misinformation to their kids. But not today! This article unveils why you shouldn’t be under intoxication influence while handling the wheel.

Did you know that in 2014, around 9960 people lost their lives due to fatal accidents caused because they were intoxicated while driving? We don’t mean to scare you with these statistics, but with this article, we are making sure you don’t make it to the list of those victims.

Well, let’s get one thing cleared up first. When you drink any alcoholic beverage, it can affect your decision-making skills and reflexes, and these two things are pretty important when it comes to driving.

If you still have any doubts about why you shouldn’t drive under any intoxicated influence, here are some reasons that will make some strong arguments for the case.

  • For your and others safety

First things first, nobody wants to get into a fatal car accident and experience some serious injuries. And as mentioned earlier, alcoholic beverages affect your ability to make some quick reflexes on the road. People also lose focus while driving and end up crashing their cars.

But what if you were sober and completely fine, but the other driver wasn’t careful enough and crashed his/her car into yours? That’s something in which you are the innocent one facing repercussions of someone else’s mistakes. In that case, you’ll be needing to compensate for the physical as well as monetary damages. According to the legal experts at Buckingham Barrera Law Firm, there are professionals out there who can help you in handling all the necessary paperwork so that you can focus on recovery and take time to heal properly. While they take care of all the legal formalities and help you get justice.

  • It is against the law.

If you drink and drive on a regular basis, there is a good chance that you could go to prison for breaking the law. In fact, if you are caught drinking while driving or hit any person under any intoxicated influence, you could be confined to prison for a night or two.

As an eligible driver, you should know that in the United States of America, the federal limit of blood alcohol content to drive is 0.08%. However, the laws and penalties differ from state to state. So, it is better to adhere to the law and avoid drinking while driving altogether.

Wrapping Up!

So, now that you know why it is risky to be under intoxication influence while driving, makes sure you consider them the next time you party really hard with your peers.

Thus, it is better to be safe and alive than to be injured and dead!
