Linklaters advised Blue Moon Group Holdings Limited (Blue Moon) on its initial public offering (IPO) and listing on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE), with the shares listed on the HKSE today.
Blue Moon is a leading consumer-centric household care company in China. The Blue Moon brand is well-established in the market and its liquid laundry detergent, liquid soap and concentrated liquid laundry detergent products had the largest market shares in their respective markets in each of 2017, 2018 and 2019.
This highly anticipated IPO was priced at the top end of its range, amid strong investor demand, raising US$1.27bn. Blue Moon plans to use the proceeds to finance its business expansion, including expanding its production capacity, developing its laundry services, raising its brand awareness and strengthening its sales and distribution network.
The Linklaters team was led by corporate partner Gilbert Li, and capital markets partner Lipton Li, with support from counsel Donnelly Chan, senior US associate Pengyu Chen, managing associate Chloe Choy and US associate Matt Mao.
Partner, Gilbert Li, commented:
“This transaction was a highly sought-after mandate and we are grateful to Blue Moon for their trust in us. The successful listing of this IPO not only consolidates our firm’s long-standing reputation in the equity space, but also reflects a strong investor interest in the Chinese economy.”
